Long time HeartGift Foundation Board member Robert Duncan approached members of the Houston medical community with an idea to expand the HeartGift model to Houston in partnership with Texas Children's Hospital.  Thanks to a generous grant from the Strake Foundation in 2009 that dream became a reality, and Houston will treat its' first child in the Fall of 2010. 

The Houston chapter is lead by Board President Heather Browne, and all HeartGift patients will have surgery at Texas Children's Hospital under the care of Dr. Charles Fraser, pediatric heart surgeon, and cardiologist Dr. Douglas Moodie.
